***An update to a previous post***
As you may have noticed from my earlier post. I did get to enroll for the Spring semester at QCC—and now in hindsight, God must have been looking out for me. I had intended to enroll for Fall 2024 there was just too much going on at the time. So right now I am happily enrolled at QCC and if you might know, actually thriving academically. You probably going, “That’s shocking. You can actually read?”😂
But anyway, why do I call my QCC enrollment a Godsend? Because news broke just this week that the Trump administration is planning to really crack down on student loan repayments beginning NEXT month(May).😳 If I hadn’t enrolled in school, guess who would be making those $300+ payments? Yup, you guessed right.😂 I actually logged into FAFSA and looked at my student loan situation. It now says my next payment is in 2029(after graduation)👍.
The Spring semester is almost coming to an end. I’m taking some classes at QCC this Summer also. I talked to the QCC financial aid folks and they told me to fill out the 25-26 FAFSA if I wanted to attend Summer. I took care of that several weeks ago
They also strongly advised me to apply for the NY state financial aid, something I opted not to do for the Spring semester—I had income tax coming in, so I decided to go easy on them.😂I already put in my NY financial aid too. I actually got an email from them yesterday 04/23 saying they couldn’t process my application there was something missing in my recently filed FAFSA (25-26).🙄 They said I need to “make corrections” on my FAFSA within the next 14 days or my application gets yanked.🙄
When I logged into my FAFSA account yesterday, it didn’t indicate that there was ANY problem that I needed to fix, so I really don’t know what’s going on with NY state financial aid. In addition, it is super complicated to contact the folks at NY state financial aid. You have to schedule an appointment, but here’s the kicker, on their calendar page for appts, ALL reservations at taken🙄
Long story short. TI radar 🚨 is beginning to go off on NY state financial aid. Not full blast yet, but the alarm 🚨 is surely going off.😂 Stay tuned
On my day off(Wednesday 05/07/25) just chilling and relaxing and next thing I know, boom👇Summer school is like two weeks away. See what a TI has to go through?😂 The so-called “jerking around” program aka neo-mkultra you thought was a “conspiracy theory”😳🤔. Trust me, there are NO legitimate “problems” with all the applications I’ve submitted thus far. Stay tuned, folks. There’s also supposed to be an award from the financial aid proper(federal) for Summer school but you already know what time it is—theft theft theft🤔

***Updated on Tuesday 052025***
So the Spring semester officially ended this past Saturday(05/17) so my focus has shifted to the Summer semester.
Back in late March, early April, I had registered for two Summer classes for a total of 6 credit hours—one on Summer I and the other one in Summer II. The Summer one was scheduled to begin on 05/27—a few days from today.
So yesterday, on my day off(Monday 05/19) I decided to call QCC financial aid office to see what was going on with my financial aid application because as I had repeatedly made it clear to them, the ONLY way I attend Summer school is with financial aid—student loans.
Back in late March when I registered for Summer school, I made sure to check in with the financial aid office to make sure come Summer semester, I will have a decision one way or another re my financial aid. Back then(March), the financial aid office told me what I needed to do was fill out the 2025-26 FAFSA and also apply for NY state financial aid—both of which I took care of.

So I thought all I had to do is knock out the Spring semester and SMOOTHLY transition into Summer I, right? Wrong.🙄My financial aid application remained in limbo until yesterday when I reached someone at the office, meaning it had been languishing since March.🙄 Mind you, I’ve sent a lot of emails in the interim to inquire about the status of my aid but apparently I was “speaking to the hand.”😂🙄
So yesterday when I finally got a hold of someone at the office they told me I could not receive any more federal financial aid because I am maxed out for an undergraduate—I’ve apparently hit the limits for both Pell & student loans

I would have to get a private loan or pay for myself. Why did it take so long to tell me that? If they told me that in April, I would have made arrangements to pay for myself this Summer. It’s only 1 class in Summer I.🤦♀️🤷♀️You see what I’m saying, the problem is not with the determination that I’m maxed out, if that is even the case, but rather that they could have told me that way back then allowing me to make plans for Summer school. Now it’s less than 10 days before classes start—too late to do anything. I’m also ONLY finding out because I called yesterday. I would have been sitting here thinking I have class on the 27th only to hit the FIND OUT phase then.😂 Come on now, something is not right with that picture.🤷♀️
And then this. The financial aid lady also asked me if I had filed the NY state financial aid and I told her I did when I filed my 2025-26 FAFSA, just like they told me. I told her they rejected my application over some issues with my FAFSA. The lady told me NY aid had NOTHING to do with FAFSA, but when you look at the letter below, that’s EXACTLY what the NY state aid folks told me. What is a targeted individual supposed to believe, folks?😂🤷♀️

Long story short, folks, my plans for Summer school and the financial aid😂 have hit a road block. Coincidence? Hmm, we report you decide
Interesting side note, before I got off the phone with the financial aid lady, I asked her about the Godsend bill—literally—that NY Governor Hochul recently signed that essentially makes community college FREE
