As I stated in my previous post, I did finally get my housing voucher after fighting for it for close to a year. I got it earlier this month(May). Naturally my focus has now shifted to the next phaseāsecuring an apartment, preferably in Jamaica Queens because my kids are already enrolled in school there, and seemingly like their schools a lotādidnāt see that comingš
I thought the apartment leasing process would be easy as it is in Houston Texas, where virtually every apartment complex has an onsite leasing officeāyou basically walk in, fill in the application, make a deposit, view the desired unit, then wait 3-5 days for a decisionāsometimes even get it the same day if you have good leasing history.
The leasing process in NYC is a whole new animal. You have to call some number to be told whether they have any available unit, then schedule a visit if they want you and thenā¦Long story short, the NYC apartment leasing process is NOT conducive for a targeted individual because as TIs know, half the time you donāt even know whether the āleasing agentā you are talking to on the phone is one.š Hey, Iām just keeping it realš¤·āāļø
And proof is in the pudding. Iāve made NUMEROUS calls but ZERO requests for viewing.šSurprise surprise. And the times Iāve spoken to a āleasing agentā on the phone, itās almost always the SAME storyāno two bedroom apartments in Queensānot Jamaica Queens, the whole damn Queensš³š. Come on now, thatās not even statistically possibleš¤·āāļø
And the times that I call and find out that they do have 2 bedrooms in Queens itās strangely just a little over the amount my voucher allowsāor very far away from Jamaica Queens. Yeah, you guessed it right, the TI alarm šØ šØ is beginning to go offš. If I keep up with this phone tag business, Iāll be stuck in the shelter for another year with voucher in hand. That aināt happening.šš¤·āāļø I have to scramble and find a NEW way to get an apartment. Iāll keep playing phone tag but at this point I donāt expect anything from that process.
Iāve been reliably informed that DSS(NYCs dept of social services) does OWN some apartments. I donāt know how true that is, but Iād rather pursue that route than rely on the phone tag folks. Very suspicious, folks. Stay tuned.
**Updated Memorial Sunday 05/25/25**
So Saturday 05/24, an apartment listing popped up on the app I use to look for apartmentsāthe āStreet Easyā app. The apartment was listed for 3,205 on Guy R Brewer blvd.

Two things caught my attention with this listing. It is very close to where my son goes to school and secondly, they had an āopen houseā for Sunday 05/25āanybody can just pop up and look, as opposed to waiting on a phone callāyou know how that goes for TIsāwait foreveršš
To be clear, the amount listed ($3205) is a little over my voucher amount so I knew I wasnāt getting that apartment. Something however just compelled me to go and lookābetter than laying around on Memorial weekend, right?
So I left at about 2pm. The place is about 0.7 miles from where I live, so I just walked. I get there and MAN!! The place is way beyond what I had expected. Itās a new building with a doorman and everything. I knew right there and then, THIS is where I wanted to live. And check this out, the building is called āThe Monarch.ā Where else would the future King of Queens want to live?šš¤·āāļø
So I told the security guy/doorman that I was there for the āopen houseā. He told me to wait on some seats at the lobby and someone will come and talk to me shortly. Squeeky clean lobby, folks. Iām for real, moving in that building. One way or anotherš
So the leasing lady comes down and I tell her my situation. She tells me the two bedrooms start at $3,600āit said $3,205 on the adš. The vibe was kinda offānot sure whyāso I didnāt even go into the $3,200 discrepancy stuff. I figured let me just ask her one more question and then leave. I asked her if I could use my voucher for a one bedroom there. She shot that down so fast, so at that point Iād seen enough. I decided to let it go.
I figured itās Memorial weekend so my Christians (the real onesš) are off for the weekend. Iāll come back to this building on a regular weekday and see if one of my peepsāreal Christiansācan fit me into this building. I was very impressed by this place, and left with the impression that if I get the ārightā person, I could find a spot there. Today was not meant to be. Stay tuned.
***Update on Tuesday 05/27/25***
So day after memorial is a working day for me (Tuesday 05/27). That means I can’t run around looking for apartments. So while at work, I looked at the Street Easy app and bam, they have a listing by Zara Realty for a two-bedroom for $2,800–perfect for my voucher.
So I get on the phone and call the number Zara has for inquiries. I’ve been calling this number since I got my voucher but nobody ever calls back.š As for this particular apartment, I’ve been requesting a visit since 05/05 but never received a call backš I’ve also called Zara several times after that, only to be told that there are NO available 2 bedroom apartments in Jamaica Queens–even as this listing is STILL showing up on the app–TI radar going off šØš
So I decided to call them (Zara) again about this unit to see if it was available as the app has shown since the beginning of May. So I got the lady on the phone (seems like the same lady every timeš) and instead of asking a general question as I always do, about two bedroom apartments in Jamaica, I switched it up this time, and instead inquired about this very apartment. I told her I wanted to rent that apartment.
So she put me on hold for a second to check on the availability and then asked me my contact info, which I gave her thinking she’s getting ready to set me up for a visit. Next thing I know, she’s telling me she’ll pass my info to the broker and they’ll set up a visit. I told her the said “broker” she had been “forwarding my information to”š, has never called me back since the beginning of the month, so why should I expect a call now? I asked her to set up the visit herself.
She then told me what I’ve suspected all along. She’s not even a Zara employee–Lord Have Mercy𤦖she’s just a third party who gets the info and forwards it to the broker. For a targeted individual, one has to wonder whether she has even forwarded my info from the numerous times I’ve calledš¤¦
Long story short, NYC, there has to be a better way to search/apply for apartments. This is NOT it, especially for targeted individualsšš¤·At this point, I will NOT be surprised if I found out that Zara Realty doesn’t even have my info. All this time I’ve just been talking to…šš¤¦
***Thursday 05/29–Workday***
***Caught the Manhattan-bound F train at about 10:45am from 169 Street station–usually catch the 10:38am, so running a little late. 2 stops in (Sutphin) and boom, a delay–NYPD looking for someoneš Didn’t take long, though***Ended up being a very “interesting” day.š Not sure if I should create a separate post for this day or not, but I might. Ended up leaving after 5pm, which is late for this day/shift. As I stated in my earlier posts, when it’s “operation day” you will know even before you arrive at the job.šš¤¦***
Anyway back to some more interesting news. On my day off yesterday (Wednesday 05/28), I did a lot of calling around re apartments. Came across a number for a building called MODA about a mile from where I currently live and thought this would be perfect because my kids would get to keep their schools.
Gave them a call, surprisingly, it went down pretty well. Good vibes from the other side of the phone and check this out, they even set me up for a viewing appointment this Saturday 05/31š³. Totally didn’t see that coming, and a far cry from the “I’ll forward your info to a broker” I always get, and then never hear from the said brokerš
My experience with MODA is the best thus far–pretty “normal” compared to my previous inquiries. They even told me what to expect at the meeting, the application rules etc. Very good. š
Does that mean I’m a lock for an apartment in this building? Obviously not. Just saying it’s my best prospect thus far. I will surely keep you informed about how my experience turns out this Saturday.
***Viewing Day Saturday 053125***
So, as I had stated in a previous post, I had a very good experience with one of the apartment buildings (MODA) the previous week, and they even set me up for a viewing on Saturday 05/31. I had originally scheduled an 11:00 am viewing on the phone but because a TI can never trust phone conversationsš, I followed up that phone call with an actual visit to the building property just to make sure the appointment was legit.
While there, I actually scheduled ANOTHER visit at 4:30 pm. I don’t think they realized it but I had scheduled TWO viewing appointments for Saturday 05/31, one at 11 am and the other at 4:30 pmš³
So Saturday morning at about 9 am, I get a reminder text telling me that I have an upcoming viewing appointment at 11 am. The building (MODA) is very close to where I live–easily walkable distance, so no big deal.
I end up getting there at around 10:50 am and the receptionist/doorman told me to wait on the lounge chairs because the housing lady was on her way there. She shows up at about 11:30 am and takes me upstairs to show me the apartment. She tells me that there’s an apartment that is not available yet, but it’s coming up in a few days. She says it’s on the 7th floor (God’s flooršš), but the apartment she is going to show me on the 4th floor is exactly similar to the one on the 7th floor.
So she shows me around and man, it’s a a super nice building–probably better than “The Monarch” that I had visited the previous weekend.š³ The lady here is also super nice as opposed to the one at The Monarchšš. Crucially, my voucher fits the rent requirements for the 7th floor 2 bed and 2 bath. Everything went fine with my visit.šš
She told me basically the whole process takes like a month from the time I put in my application to the time the city approves the apartment–they have to come and inspect, etc, etc. She told me that the most important thing at that point was for me to submit an application and make sure I pay the $20 application fee because that’s what holds the application. She gave me the link for the application and I took care of all that on Saturday 05/31.
Now there was a little technical issue with the application. When I visited the link she gave me, the 7th floor apartment she had told me was not among the options–which kinds makes sense because she had told me it was not available yet. So she told me to just apply for any of the available 2 bedrooms and she was going to fix it on her end– basically switch my application to the 7th floor apartment
I have a strong feeling that this is where I will end up living when I come from the housing facility–certainly hope soššIt will be good for the kids too (1) because of the security and (2) because the kids will get to keep their schools. We’ll see what happens
***Updated Thursday 06/26/25***
So here’s where we stand re moving into an apartment. The inspection for the apartment was supposed to happen on Monday 06/23 after which my papers were supposed to be submitted to the city for processing (CityFHEPS papers). The process is supposed to take about a month–per both my caseworker/housing specialist and the apartment folks.
The 06/23 inspection apparently DIDN’T happen–according to the housing specialist assigned to me–based at my housing facility, and works for NYC’s DHS. Relax, not the immigration DHS but NYC’s Dept of Homeless Services.š She told me she could not do the inspection because the apartment in question was not yet ready–whoever was supposed to move out on 06/20 was STILL THEREš–apparently had been given an “extension”. So now his moving date is supposed to be in early July–right around July 4th, after which the inspection can take placeš¤¦
But check this out, time is of the essence here BIG TIME. My housing voucher expires in mid August. I applied for this apartment on 05/31 and was initially expected to move in on July 1. Now with all these delays, the move in date necessarily has to be on 08/01.
But here’s the $1 million question. Will there be enough time from the time they do inspection in July, to the time the voucher is expected to expire, for DHS to process the necessary paperwork to ensure that there are no problems when it comes time for me to move on 08/01?
Or will this be just the latest case of how the system plausibly deniably fails targeted individuals?š³š¤ Hmm, we’ll see what happens. For the record, as far as I’m concerned, my travails with QCC financial aid office also fall under the plausibly deniable system “failures” that happen with targeted individualsš¤
And just so you know, I’m already looking for other apartments in case July 4th comes and we’re hit with another “move out date was extended” line.š
***Or as someone quite astutely observed on social media recently. He said targeted individuals are most often watchlisted people, but using the term “watchlist” greatly understates what is really done to them. The more accurate term is “blacklisted” individuals because they are ILLEGALLY denied services/benefits they are otherwise entitled to–get a housing voucher in a year when it should really take 60 days, denied financial aid for very questionable reasons, no right to privacy whatsoever despite SCOTUS’ reasonable expectations of privacy standard, stalked even though stalking is a crime in every U.S. jurisdiction…and on and on and onš¤
***Thursday 07/03/25***
Headed to work. Very interesting day because this is the day President Trumpās Big Beautiful Bill (BBB) is set to become law, and with it, massive cuts to social safety nets like Medicaid, SNAPā¦Itās fair to assume that there will also be massive cuts to housing assistance, which are primarily funded by states, but also rely on some federal funding. So why is Trumpās BBB a topic in some gangstalking blog, you ask? Well, thereās a very good reason for it.
Early this year (January or February 2025) while I was still stressing out about not getting my housing voucher(more than 7 months had passed), I wrote a post suggesting that I would not be surprised if they keep me hanging on the voucher long enough to allow incoming President Trump to enact massive cuts in social spending that potentially derail my voucher applicationāNY state canāt afford it anymore, or some similar excuse.
Back in Texas, it was very clear to me that my targeting was because of my political speechāwhich surprise surprise, has been consistently anti-Trump administration and pro-Democrats. I therefore knew earlier on that it was MAGA-aligned Deep Staters that were behind my targeting. Isnāt it funny how the people who scream the most about āweaponization of governmentā are usually the ones behind it?š¤
In the aforementioned post earlier this year, I even stated that I would not be surprised if the same MAGA Deep Staters from Texas are still running my targeting here in NYC, and that I would not be surprised if they get me jammed up with Trumpās proposed spending cutsš³. I swear to God I wrote that. They have since scrubbed the posts I wrote earlier this year from the internet(I kid you notāsee the website landing page) but I will try my best to dig it up. It s really a prophetic piece, or is it?
Put another way, I was saying in that earlier post that my housing voucher application was deliberately delayed (almost a year, instead of the normal 3 months) just so they could jam me up with complications from Trumpās new spending bill.
I found an apartment on 05/31/25 that was willing to rentā very good apartmentāwhich I put in the application for. The original story was that the unit would become available on 06/20/25 after which inspection could take place and the relevant paperwork submitted to the city for processing(City FHEPS voucher processing). I was originally scheduled to move in on 07/01/25.
The scheduled inspection was supposed to happen last week but it didnāt because the tenant had been granted a moving extensionādid not have to move out on the 20th.šSo now we have a situation where the inspection and submission of my paperwork to the city will have to happen after the July 4th holiday, and yes, after Trumpās BBB becomes the law of the land..š³
Did I nail it with my prophetic post earlier this year, that MAGA Deep Staters deliberately dragged my voucher application process just so the could jam me up with complications surrounding BBB? Will BBB have any effect on the NYC housing voucher program that also negatively affect my housing voucher? Hmm, we shall see what happens.
One thingās for sure, I need to work on Wall Street, or some betting firm because my forecasting skills appear to be off the charts.š Iāll surely keep you posted on what transpires after the July 4th weekend. Stay tuned.
***Tuesday 07/08/25***
Headed to work. No word yet as to whether an inspection has been done on the apartment I’m supposed to move into on 08/01/25. Remember the inspection was supposed to happen in late June but it was pushed forward because the apartment wasn’t ready yet–whoever was supposed to move out on 06/20 had been granted “an extension”.š
Has he moved out now that it’s 07/08? Not sure. Crucially, the voucher expires in mid August.š³ Will this be another case where a TI is deliberately FAILED by the system in a plausibly deniable way?š¤ Hmm, stay tuned. Should I abandon ships and look elsewhere? Hmm, tough decisions to be made this week.
***Friday 07/11/25***
Headed to work. Still no word as to whether an inspection has been done yet. I got an email from the apartment folks saying they are still working on a new inspection date. That’s all fine and dandy but remember, the clock is tickingš³. Will be the latest case of the system deliberately failing a targeted individual? Hmm, we shall see
***Updated Thursday 07/17/25***
Headed to work. Interesting thing happened the day before– Wednesday 07/16. Out of the blue, they gave me a NEW housing voucher that has a little bit more money and importantly, expires in November 2025.š³Remember, one of the issues here was that things were dragging along too slowly with a voucher that expires in mid August–less than a month away.
So at least we’ve cleared the August expiration hurdle but we’re not out of the woods yet. The plan was for me to move out on 08/01/25. That’s the ONLY thing I care about but it’s increasingly looking that it will not happen. Did they extend the voucher because there are further delays down the pike? Not sure. We shall see. All I know is, if for whatever reason I’m still there in August, I’m running straight to court.š Sorry folks, I’ve seen enoughš¤·
***Updated on Thursday 08/21/25***
Wednesday 08/20/25 was my day off. Two big things to take care of this Wednesday were (1) going to QCC to do a āHail Maryā on my Fall semester registration(not much hope there) and (2) call the apartment folks about the lease I had signed the night before(electronically via Docusign). The longest lease Iāve ever seenāsome 108 pagesš³
My QCC trip went very well. They actually cancelled my $725 ātuitionā debt and even proceeded to register me for the Fall semester. That was not on my bingo cardšIām supposed to go back there on Monday so the financial aid office can officially put me on Gov Kathy Hochulās programā100% FREE college education. God bless Kathy & NYš
While at QCC, I got an email from the apartment folks telling me they had received my signed lease. The apartment folks asked me to make sure the housing specialists at the facility do their part so my paperwork could be submitted that same 08/20. They asked me to make sure the housing folk ādonāt drop the ball.ā Right there and then I KNEW the ball would be droppedš
First of all, itās important that you understand how the housing voucher works at this stage. The lease I had docusigned on 08/19/25 was for 09/01/25. That means all the required paperwork had to be submitted to HRA(both from apartment folks and the housing specialists) by 08/20. Thatās why the 08/20 was critical. If you sign a lease for 08/01 for example, HRA wants all the paperwork submitted by 07/20, get it?
So it was VERY important that after I signed the lease, the housing specialists do their part on that very 08/20. A reasonable argument can be made that the apartment folk should have provided the lease earlier to give the housing specialists more time to do what they needed to do. Totally fair point
But anyway, as you might have guessed by now, the housing specialists did NOT, could not submit my paperwork on 08/20. They discovered a problem on the lease. My son had just turned 18 on 08/13, so he had to sign the lease with me, as opposed to just being a dependent. So now a new lease for 10/01 has to be done and the paperwork submitted by 09/20.š Think about that, a TI was supposed to be signing a lease in September 2024, and yet here we are, almost in September 2025, with no end in sight.
Thereās no other way to explain this. You know EXACTLY whatās going on here. This is not your regular ādelays in processingā. I think itās time to test the NY courts. Thatās the only way I get out of this Deep State jail. A decision was already made to DENY a TI public housing. Weāre just going through the motions, and thatās SAD. Youāre better than this, HRAš¤·āāļø
***Updated Monday 08/25/25***
So on Friday 08/22/25 while at work, an email comes in from the apartment folk. Thereās a NEW wrinkleš. For them to put my 18 year old son on the lease as a signor, he needs some type of state id. Remember my recent story re āLe Bronx DMV Dramaā? Thereās no telling how long itās going to take before I get him an ID. Remember, the CityFHEPS documents have to be submitted by 09/20 for an October 1st lease. My son just turned 18 on 08/13. I have his birth certificate & social. I gave them his birth certificate, so Iām waiting to see what they say. I have an appointment for him on 08/27 at the local library for a NYC ID, which you can pretty much use for anything in NYC. We should be able to proceed with the lease signing after thatāhopefullyš
Oh, and another thing regarding my 18 year old. Apparently HRA mailed be a letter on 08/14 regarding some mandatory work requirements for him. The housing facility folks just handed me the letter today (08/25) as I was headed to QCC. The HRA letter is not clear as to what Iām supposed to do with him re the job requirements but it says failure to comply may result in reduction or termination of SNAP benefits.š³
So once I came from QCC, I decided to swing by the local HRA office to find out exactly what they are asking us to do. The HRA office is a flea market this morningāeverybody in Queens, and their mama is herešš¤¦āāļø. Remember, any problem with SNAP or cash assistance will affect housing. They got a TI stretched out all over the place. Lord have mercy.š¤¦āāļø
***Updated on Tuesday 08/26/25***
So things changed a little bit on Monday 08/25/25 re the housing situation. As you may recall, there was a snag with the lease-signing regarding my newly-turned 18 year old son. Per the housing specialists where I currently live, because he was now legally an adult, he had to be a cosignor on the lease, as opposed to just being a dependent.
That of course meant the lease I had just signed had to be sent back to the apartment folks to be redrafted. Additionally, my adult son would require some type of state ID if he was going to co-sign the leaseātheir idea, not mine. So I went and made an appointment for Wednesday 08/27 to take my son to the local library to get him a NYC IDāa municipal ID. That was the plan. Get the municipal ID, send it to the apartment folks, and co-sign the new lease with my son
Well, Monday evening, an email comes in from the apartment folks asking me to sign. Naturally, Iām confused, because I thought we needed an ID for my son. Additionally, the ONLY thing different on the new lease is that my adult son is listed as an occupant and my daughter as a dependent. He is otherwise not required to sign anything. So I contact the apartment folks to make sure that my son doesnāt need to sign and Iām told to proceedāmy sonās designation as āoccupantā was the only change necessary.
So I get back to the housing facility and immediately head to the housing specialistās office to let her know they have sent me a new lease to sign. She tells me she is aware of that, but still raises the co-signing issue. So we agreed that Iāll just sign it and they will send the required paperwork to HRA. She said if HRA sends it back, it will not be on her, but the apartment folks. For a TI that means HRA WILL send it back.š
Anyway, stay tuned, weāll see what happens. Just know that this TI has āother tricksā up his sleeve. Believe that!!š
